Jungle Party Bags
It has been a wild and crazy month preparing for Valentine's parties and other events.  I am so thankful to finally have a little time to develop a few fun new items.  I received an inquiry about animals, and I had a great time developing several new favor bags including a full Jungle Party celebration, Down on the Farm birthday Cow, Choo Choo Train, and Princess Frog.  I even took time to revisit a favorite from my shop the Toy Story alien!  My kids really loved my new alien party cups and napkins.

This is a busy time of the year for me preparing for my little ones spring birthdays.  I'll have some really sweet pics to share soon of my daughter's 4th birthday Fancy Nancy style.

A Little Bit of Lately

I am really excited for all of the fun projects I have been working on lately.  Several customers have shared their children's passion for Minions.  I have to admit, I have never seen the actual movie, but I love the look of my new line.  From favor bags, straws, and cups to plates and napkins. My new Minion Inspired Party Pack has everything you need for your celebration.

In the midst of a very busy few weeks, I have also been planning my three year old daughter's birthday party. I have to admit, most of my party passions have been boy themes, but lately I have gotten in touch with my inner princess.  I am so thrilled that someone asked me about Cinderella party supplies.  I absolutely loved developing the new package including paper slippers, favor bags, napkins, glitter cups, clock themed party plates, Prince Charming and Cinderella favor bags, glitter crowns, straws, and last but not least a magical Fairy Godmother wand.  All of these fun items can also be purchase in a party pack.

I am excited to hear what you think.  Let the party planning begin!

A Trip to Neverland

One of my kids favorite stories is Peter Pan.  There is something magical about being whisked away to a far away place with Tinkerbell and Peter Pan.  The evil villain Captain Hook still startles me a bit!

No matter what age, the dreamer in all of us can see ourselves as a pirate battling Captain Hook so why not transform the imagination into a fun filled kids party.  I am currently developing a series of pirate party items integrating traditional pirate design.  Check out our store on Etsy where you will find party supplies such as pirate napkins, cups, straws, cupcake toppers, hats, snack bags, as well as chocolate Captain Hook favors.  Check back with our store to see favor bags and additional pirate themed items soon!

My Visit to Candy Land

One day when I was walking by a local yogurt shop I saw a father and daughter.  I always get a little emotional when I see a dad with his daughter.  I guess it reminds me of the times when my dad and I would play cards together.  It was our special time.

What was so special to me about the observation of this father and daughter was the unspoken story they were telling....uninterrupted time with daddy playing Candy Land!  I walked away thinking, wow, that is neat. I hope I create memories like that where I slow down and really enjoy my kids.  Now, I've started my own tradition with my two little ones.  We periodically visit the same yogurt spot and while I try to convince my son to pick Candy Land he is convinced that Connect 4 is better!  Ha, I guess I'll wait until it's just girl time with my daughter.

When thinking about parties and fun things to create special occasion memories, I knew that Candy Land was next on my list.  So, check out some of the fun things I've created from Lollipop invitations, chocolate favors, birthday banners, party hats, cupcake toppers and more.

Enjoy your journey to Candy Land!

Childhood Memories Inspire Creative Christmas Gifts

Crayola Crayon Jars available on Etsy

One of my fondest childhood memories was the beginning of the school year.  I wasn't glad to see summer end, but boy I loved to go shopping for all my new school supplies.  What girl doesn't love to go shopping right?

It was the smell of new crayons that got me every time.  Hmmm, the fresh tools of creativity grasped in my hands just waiting for all of the fun projects ahead.  Now that I have kids, I get to enjoy their love of arts as well.  No matter how many crayons we have in the house, there is always a look of excitement when they get a new box.

So, why not create a few fun new gifts using my favorite Crayola Crayon?  Check out our new Customizable Crayola Crayon Wreaths and our Crayola Crayon Jars (which also make great flower vases.  These make great teachers' gifts as well as birthday party decor.

Tell me what you think!

Pursue Your Passion

I have many passions in my life from my children to staying fit to planning and creating memorable parties. I believe that all of us are given gifts. Gifts we use that give us life and motivate us to get out of bed each day.

I have always dreamed of being a mother. I could not wait to have children and especially to be a meaningful part of their life. I always tell my husband that having children is redemptive. It gives us the opportunity to change things that we wished were different in ourselves and witness firsthand the shaping of a human being within God's redemptive plan.

Life has changed a lot for me. I have been blessed to enjoy a season away from my corporate career to just be mommy. Wait, I don't mean "just" like it is the easy road because being at home with little ones is far from a break. One thing I am grateful for is the time to rediscover my passions. Plural, yes, I have more than one (at least now I see it). During this time, I have finally been able to quiet my life a bit to hear the desire within me to create. You see, I was always around creators in my field and never thought I would be one of them.

I am so happy to launch BKreative Designs to share my love for children's party planning with others around the world. Tell me what you think about my new shop!
